Job Description

About the role

We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Projects Delivery Engineer to join our Estates Team. The role involves managing and overseeing electrical and mechanical installation projects across the University campus. You will act as a key liaison between the Principal Contractor and mechanical and electrical subcontractors to assess the quality of installation and design compliance. The candidate will work with design consultants to resolve issues arising on site or during the contractor design phase. Collaboration with the project delivery team and asset management team will be essential to ensure successful project completion and high quality standards. The role involves working on a varied portfolio of projects, primarily refurbishments and adaptations across the campus. Given the infrastructure and engineering-led buildings, assessing the quality of mechanical and electrical installations is critical to project success.

About you

You should have significant experience in delivering and overseeing mechanical and electrical projects, with a strong understanding of assessing mechanical and electrical assets. Robust reporting skills and a tenacious approach to resolving on-site issues are essential. You should be familiar with consultant/contractor design drawings and applying this knowledge to review installation quality.

Knowledge of the construction process, project procedures, relevant legislation, British Standards, Building Regulations, and Health and Safety is required. You must be self-motivated, communicative, and results-oriented.
