Job Description

PROJECT CONSTRUCTION MANAGER
Location: Derbyshire
Contract duration: 3-6 months
Project: Chemical Plant (Construction)
Start Date: ASAP
Account Manager: Robert Caldwell

We are seeking an experienced Project Construction Manager who will oversee and guide all aspects of the assigned Capital Construction Project from initiation to completion. This role is responsible for ensuring that the Project is executed on schedule, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership abilities, excellent communication skills, and a proven track record of delivering successful construction projects.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Define and seek agreement for project goals, objectives and deliverables, develop scope of works document from clients Project Initiation document
  • Identify and maintain project risk register.
  • Liaise with Capital portfolio manager and Procurement partner on project specifics, reaching agreement on project scope, deliverables and procurement strategy.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, milestones, resource allocation, and budgets, based upon client ' s input.
  • Validate safety, quality expectations can be achieved.
  • Direct and manage external project teams, including architects, engineers, subcontractors, and other key stakeholders to ensure all project aspects align with the overall vision.

Role Requirements
  • Experience in a project construction management role or the similar particularly with a hands-on experience in managing construction projects
  • Proven track record of managing large-scale construction projects from inception to completion
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent is preferred.
  • NEBOSH Safety Certification or equivalent is highly desirable.
  • Exceptional project management, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective leadership and team management abilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Proficient in project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Procore) and relevant construction technologies.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction methodologies, safety protocols, building codes, and industry best practices.
