Main Purpose of Job

Working within the Project Management Office to roll out and support the project implementation and ongoing management of NSSLGlobal's projects whilst also assisting in the production of high-quality bids for commercial and government customers to win existing and new business.

Key Tasks
  • Support Project Managers in the project implementation and ensure that projects progress smoothly through the company and according to agreed timescales.
  • Assist in the production and ongoing management of high-quality documentation including Project Management Plans, Risk Registers, Project Schedules and other project documentation as required.
  • Maintaining financial records of all projects and producing monthly financial reports to the Programme Director.
  • Conducting internal Project Review Meetings with the Project Managers, Programme Director.
  • To undertake any other project management duties as may be required and as directed by the Programme Director.
Bids
  • Coordinating bids for commercial and government customers, following the NSSLGlobal Bid Management Process.
  • Writing bid content for bids.
  • Assist in conducting post-bid analysis/Learning from Experience with the aim to continually improve bid processes and outputs.
  • Assisting in the management of the Bid Library.
  • Assisting in maintaining a global database of all upcoming, ongoing and awaiting bids.
Dimensions
  • Responsibility for project implementation in accordance with agreed programme and priorities.
  • Responsible for monitoring own tasks and ensuring completion to agreed schedules.
  • Assisting in ensuring all project related costs are recorded and that suppliers are managed accordingly.
  • Assisting in ensuring bid responses are to the highest quality and delivered on time.
  • Responsible for ensuring the highest customer satisfaction.
Assignment and Review of Work
  • Assigned by Customer, Project Management Office, Programme Director or CEO.
  • As required and dictated by the programmes/contracts/bids which you work.
  • Day to day work is self-monitored however will be reviewed and appraised by the project management team.
Decision Making
  • Will need to make decisions affecting work priorities and goal setting, consulting the project team and leadership team as required.
  • Taking ownership and seeing through to completion.
  • Proactive and independent decision making required within authority level.
  • Takes responsibility for issues and coordinates response before they escalate, communicating with the PMO and Programme Director as needed.
Judgement
  • Significant judgement is required to manage the internal cross-boundary relationships to ensure positive outcomes achieved.
  • Role is very self-sufficient however will report into the overall programme of ongoing projects and bids.
  • Judgement required to ensure correct level of priority is attached to work commitment.
Experience/Skills/Qualifications
  • Technology/engineering degree and Project Management qualifications highly preferred.
  • Ability to achieve SC Security Clearance.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Candidate must be highly organized with good numeracy and literacy skills.
  • Experienced in standard office applications including VISIO, Excel and Project.
  • The ability to produce a high standard of work which meets or exceeds customer's requirements.
  • Ability to work hard, proactively work on own initiative, meet tight deadlines and balance priorities to achieve results.
  • Willingness and ability to learn quickly.
  • Flexible, customer focused and self-motivated and team player.
  • Must be organised, methodical and a good multi-tasker.
  • Flexibility with regards to travel and requirements of the role.
  • Good numeracy and literacy skills.
