Location: Belgium (Hybrid - Bruges & Ghent)
Contract Length: 12 months (strong likelihood of extension)
Day Rate: €500-€600 per day (flexible for the right candidate)
Start Date: ASAP (2-4 weeks' notice considered)

Overview

A leading consultancy based in Belgium is seeking two experienced Programme Managers to support a growing portfolio of IT and software development projects for a key client. This is a long-term contract opportunity offering hybrid working and involvement in complex, enterprise-scale programmes.

As a Programme Manager, you will take ownership of multiple IT initiatives, coordinating cross-functional teams and ensuring delivery across timelines, budgets, and quality standards. You will act as the primary point of contact between stakeholders, delivery teams, and senior leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee multiple IT and software development projects within a broader programme framework

• Manage end-to-end programme delivery, from planning and execution through to successful completion

• Coordinate and support multiple sprint teams within a consultancy environment

• Apply both Agile and Waterfall methodologies, adapting delivery approaches to project needs

• Drive and manage migration projects, ideally within Java-based environments

• Identify and mitigate programme risks, issues, and dependencies

• Ensure clear communication across technical and non-technical stakeholders

• Provide regular status updates, reporting, and governance at programme level

• Maintain delivery momentum in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment

Required Experience & Skills

• Minimum 6 years' experience leading IT projects within software development environments

• Strong, hands-on experience with Agile and Waterfall delivery methodologies

• Proven experience delivering migration projects (Java experience highly desirable)

• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple sprint teams simultaneously

• Background working within a consultancy or client-facing delivery model

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

• Strong problem-solving ability and resilience under pressure

• Fluent in Dutch and English (mandatory)

Contract Details

• Hybrid working model: 2-3 days per week onsite

• Offices located in Bruges and Ghent

• 12-month initial contract, with a strong likelihood of rolling extensions over multiple years
