Job Description
Overview

Expleo is a trusted partner for end-to-end, integrated engineering, quality services, and management consulting for digital transformation. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Programme Delivery Lead to oversee a major programme within our Marine Business Unit, focused on the design and engineering of sub-surface vessels. This role requires a leader with a proven track record in managing large-scale, complex engineering programmes and delivering high volumes of technical output through multi-disciplinary teams.

Responsibilities
  • Support business development and bid activities, including requirements capture, scope definition, cost estimation, and scheduling.
  • Lead the delivery of a complex, high-value programme involving sub-surface vessel design and advanced engineering analysis.
  • Develop and maintain integrated programme plans, budgets, and schedules.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate programme risks.
  • Own programme financial performance, including forecasting, budgeting, and cost control.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the programme.
  • Manage large, multi-disciplinary engineering teams
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications
  • Degree or HND in Engineering, Project Management, or a related discipline.
  • Recognised Project/Programme Management qualification (e.g., APM, PMP, MSP) preferred.
Essential skills
  • Strong project planning, monitoring, and change management in complex engineering environments.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills with history of successful negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • High level of contractual and financial acumen.
  • Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project) and methodologies aligned with APM BoK or PMP standards.
Desired skills
  • Background in naval or commercial ship design and construction.
  • Familiarity with SQCDP performance frameworks.
  • Knowledge of UK defence and marine industry standards and practices.
Experience
  • Proven experience in delivering complex engineering projects, ideally within the defence or marine sectors, displaying a lean mindset along with experience of working with lean toolsets.
  • Deep understanding of engineering design and analysis processes.
  • Experience working in multi-company, multi-disciplinary environments.
  • Experience of public speaking and/or presenting to an audience.
  • Project management/operational delivery management experience, including fixed-price delivery.
