Productivity Manager - Labour Planning

We're looking for an enthusiastic, strategic, and results driven individual to lead the creation and maintenance of robust, data driven Labour Models across our Convenience and Supermarket stores and our Logistics network.
This is a pivotal role where you will define the strategy, ensure a smooth transition, and drive the successful adoption of new Labour Models designed to significantly enhance store performance, optimise labour spend, save time, and improve the customer experience across our channels.
You will operate at a strategic level, setting direction for implementation and using your comprehensive retail expertise and leadership to deliver meaningful, sustained change directly in our stores and sites.
Responsibilities- Strategically direct and own the end to end process of task measurement and data collection to create, validate, and maintain the underlying engineered labour standards (Labour Models) that drive our workforce planning systems; define and own the overarching implementation strategy for productivity and labour planning improvements.
- Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with Senior Stakeholders, Regional Managers, and Store and Site Managers while leading the deployment of initiatives.
- Manage the reporting suite, provide strategic progress tracking updates, and communicate implementation status, risks, and mitigations to Executive stakeholders.
- Proactively identify, analyse, and direct the actioning of systemic issues or risks specific to complex project delivery across the varied store portfolio, ensuring scalable solutions.
- Significant, demonstrable experience in creating, implementing, and maintaining engineered labour standards via task measurement, time and motion studies, or predetermined time systems (e.g., MOST), ideally within a convenience or grocery retail setting.
- Strong experience in a management role within retail operations or large scale retail change management.
- Deep understanding of advanced scheduling systems and complex workforce management processes.
- Comprehensive knowledge of day to day retail operations across diverse formats, including merchandising, till systems, stock management, and expert knowledge of task planning/workload scheduling and optimisation.
- Proven capability to strategically lead and effectively manage the end to end implementation of multiple, complex, high risk projects across a high volume of diverse stores.
- Strong presentation and communication skills, adaptable for all levels.
- Strong commercial acumen and deep understanding of the financial and commercial impact of time, process, and labour efficiencies in a high volume, low margin retail environment.
