Salary: Up to £68,000 depending on skills and experience

What you'll be doing:

• Responsible for leading an organisation of 60 staff that are focused on the assembly, integration and testing of underwater weapons and other defence equipment
• Develop and maintain effective working relationships with your team, peers, customers, suppliers, partners, and stakeholders
• Provide senior Management with timely feedback on concerns that may affect productivity and overall engagement levels
• Acting as a coach and mentor to the broader team
• Acting as Cost Account Manager (CAM) as required.
• Management and delivery of the strategic plan for your business unit
• Challenge existing practices and implement continual improvement in processes, tooling, and methods of working for your business area
• Resolve non-conformance, inform stakeholders and where necessary issue escalation in timely manner to relevant stakeholders/key decision makers for your business area

Your skills and experiences:

• Management and leadership skills
• Experience in electrical and mechanical assembly
• Experience in managing KPI 's - quality cost and delivery (make versus buy)
• Experience in applying continuous improvement tools that results in tangible and intangible outcomes
• High levels of SHE knowledge/experience
• Understanding of ISO9001 & AS9100 Rev D
• NEBOSH or IOSH trained

As Production Manager for the Underwater Weapons business, you will play a pivotal part in ensuring that our products are produced safely, on-time, to cost and confirming to our quality management systems. You will be influential in fostering a culture that focuses on safety and compliance.

You will be financially astute, data driven , and comfortable working within a matrix organisation. You will have a drive for continuous improvement, utilising tools and behaviours to unlock a culture focused on improving our processes and empowering our people to grow.
