Product Safety and Reliability Engineer

£45,000-£50,000 + benefits + overtime/time-off flexibility

DCS Engineering are seeking a Safety and Reliability Engineer to join our clients growing Engineering team, supporting multiple defence-related projects across multiple sites.

Key Responsibilities
  • Undertake Product Safety testing and analysis to ensure compliance with all relevant safety and environmental regulations.
  • Generate Materials and Components Lists, consolidating data into a central repository.
  • Manage and maintain Datasheet Libraries, including technical, safety, and RoHS compliance records.
  • Conduct Failure Modes, Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECA) and provide reporting and administrative oversight.
  • Perform Reliability predictions and analyses at component and system levels, including MTBF data collection from OEMs, suppliers, and MIL-HDBK-217 sources.
  • Maintain the DRACAS (Data Reporting and Corrective Action System), input data, and produce reports for ILS working groups.
  • Support the ILS team with Maintainability Task Analysis and Obsolescence Risk Register management as required.
Key Skills & Experience
  • Previous experience in the Defence or related sector (serving military, MoD, or contracting).
  • Familiarity with Safety and Reliability Defence Standards (e.g. 00-55, 00-56, 00-42, 00-44).
  • Engineering HND qualification.
  • EngTech professional registration (or actively working toward it).
  • Hands on experience in Reliability or Safety data collection and analysis.
  • Human Factors experience beneficial.
  • Strong attention to quality, performance, and cost efficiency, with on time delivery mindset.
  • Ability to work autonomously with integrity and adapt quickly to changing project demands.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and general computer based data analysis tools.
  • Excellent written communication, analytical, and documentation skills.
  • Eligible for, or able to obtain, UK SC security clearance.
