Main purpose of the role & responsibilities in the business:

At Kainos, we provide innovative and creative products designed to help Workday customers reduce risk and maximize their Workday investment. Our solutions include Workday testing, compliance, data masking, and document management. As a business with a proven record of year-on-year growth and over 500 customers, we have multiple exciting opportunities for Product Owners across each of our growth products.

As a Product Owner at Kainos, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our market-leading Workday solutions. You'll own the product backlog across one or more functional areas, ensuring we stay at the forefront of the industry. This involves gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, and working closely with our development, sales, pre-sales, marketing, and professional services teams to surpass customer satisfaction goals and maintain our leading market position.

Responsibilities include:

  • Understanding customer needs, personas, and why they engage with your product.
  • Becoming an expert in the problems we solve for and why they matter.
  • Running structured workshops with customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Defining and building solutions to address customer needs.
  • Defining the benefits your solutions deliver and how to measure success.
  • Knowing your competition and how to stay ahead of them.
  • Launching products and features, organizing and enabling internal teams such as delivery, pre-sales, onboarding to maximize impact.
  • Managing Roadmap Delivery and the product backlog.
  • Creating actionable user stories for development teams.
  • Managing and prioritizing the backlog to ensure goals are met.
  • Identifying and measuring success criteria for each feature.
  • Defining and communicating release acceptance criteria, including MVP.
  • Measuring, tracking, and improving non-functional aspects of the product.
  • Contributing to marketing campaigns and external positioning as needed.
  • Supporting sales efforts with product demos and customer discussions on technical aspects.

Minimum (essential) requirements:

  • Experience working as a Product Owner in a SaaS environment managing backlog, working with development teams, and building Product Roadmaps, or experience in leading Workday implementation projects.
  • Demonstrable experience in successfully carrying out key Product Owner responsibilities or working closely with Workday customers to solve complex problems.
  • Excellent communication skills, persuasive and effective, with strong negotiating abilities.
  • Enthusiasm for new technologies and innovation, proactive in bringing new ideas.
  • Attention to detail, especially in interpreting information and sources.
  • Comfort engaging with customers to understand requirements and support discussions.
  • Relevant commercial experience and awareness to set priorities and drive product success.
  • Good understanding of technology, digital services, and trends.
  • Effective communication with team and external stakeholders.
  • Willingness to travel as required.

Desirable:

  • Experience with Automated Testing Frameworks, Data Privacy or Compliance Products.
  • Experience integrating AI into products to solve business problems.
  • Prior Workday implementation experience.
