Role Summary - Senior Product Owner
We are seeking a Senior Product Owner with deep expertise in US Retail (Personal Lines) Property & Casualty Insurance to lead digital product strategy and delivery for a major US carrier. This role requires strong domain knowledge in underwriting, pricing, risk classification, and hands-on experience with Guidewire PolicyCenter or similar policy administration platforms. The Product Owner will work in Eastern Time Zone (EST) to support US business stakeholders.
You will own the product vision, roadmap, and backlog for key digital initiatives, ensuring alignment with business goals and driving measurable value across the personal lines policy life cycle.
Key Responsibilities
Product Strategy & Vision
- Define and own the product vision and roadmap for personal lines digital capabilities (Auto, Home, Renters, Umbrella, etc.).
- Partner with underwriting, pricing, actuarial, and risk teams to identify opportunities for digital transformation and operational efficiency.
- Translate business goals into clear product strategies and measurable outcomes.
Backlog ownership & Delivery Leadership
- Own and prioritize the product backlog, ensuring alignment with business priorities and customer needs.
- Write high-quality epics, features, and user stories with clear acceptance criteria.
- Lead Agile ceremonies and collaborate closely with Scrum Masters, architects, developers, and QA teams.
- Ensure successful delivery of enhancements and implementations on Guidewire PolicyCenter.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Act as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams.
- Facilitate requirement workshops, design discussions, and solution reviews.
- Communicate product updates, release plans, and value metrics to Senior leadership.
Domain Expertise & Governance
- Provide subject matter expertise on personal lines underwriting, pricing, rating, and risk classification.
- Ensure compliance with US P&C regulatory and state-specific requirements.
- Support UAT strategy, test planning, and defect triage.
Required Skills & exp
- 7-10+ years of exp in P&C insurance, with strong focus on US Retail/Personal Lines.
- Proven exp as a Product Owner or Senior Business Analyst leading digital initiatives.
- Deep understanding of personal lines underwriting, pricing, risk classification, and rating workflows.
- Hands-on exp with Guidewire PolicyCenter (preferably v10+).
- Strong exp working in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Ability to work effectively with US stakeholders in EST hours.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and decision-making skills.
