About the role:

Newstalk is looking for an experiencedandambitiousProducerforNewstalk Breakfast with Anton Savage. You willbe a core member ofthe productionteam, responsible for delivering the highest quality news and current affairs content for our audience to set them up for the day.

In Newstalk, you will collaborate with some of the country's most experienced broadcasters and content creators, helping to shape compelling radio that connects with our target audience, drives engagement, and has a clear point of difference.

Following a launch of our new scheduleearlier this year, Newstalk Breakfast isa cornerstone of thedaily prime timeoutput.You will be working onanfast-paced, agenda-setting programme, withhigh expectationsfor listenership growth in keeping with the editorial standards of both the show and the station.

What You'll Do:
  • Lead production ofNewstalk Breakfast with Anton Savage, on air 7-9am weekdays.
  • Collaborate with editors,researchersand other production personnel to create engagingcontentthat resonates with the audience
  • Lead all aspects of production for theliveshow, as well as pre- and post-production support
  • Contribute tothe editorial vision for the programme and forward plan accordingly
  • Produce live in studio and build a good working relationship with the presenter
  • Generate and develop creative,originalandnew ideasfor the programme
  • Book guests and collateaccuratebriefing material for the presenter
  • React to breaking news quickly and inan appropriate manner
  • Edit and create imaginative audio pieces for the programme
  • Secure the best guests and on-air exclusives for the programme
  • Other duties asrequired
What You'll Have:
  • Strong editorial judgement, particularly in current affairs and talk topics
  • Excellent storytelling, scripting, and audio editing skills
  • Stronginterpersonalskills with an ability to collaborate with colleagueswithin your team as well asacross the station
  • An ability to work to deadlines
  • Strong planning and organisational skills.
  • Knowledge oflibel anddefamation law,andCoimisiúnnaMeáncodes of conduct
