Salary: From £55,000 + annual bonus & benefits (commenced)

What you'll be doing
  • Aligning procurement activities with Tesco Underwriting strategic objectives.
  • Identifying contract requirements and writing specifications for existing contracts and/or new contracts.
  • Contract Management: managing the delivery of a major part of our contract management program while taking personal responsibility for a limited number of mission critical contracts.
  • Effectively building formal and informal relationship networks inside and outside Tesco Underwriting.
  • Keeping track of risk parameters, identifying any deviations and reporting them to senior colleagues.
  • Developing stakeholder engagement through identifying stakeholders, finding out their needs/issues/concerns and reacting to these to support the communication of business information and decisions.
  • Supporting the TU Procurement Team with procurement activities, including contract administration, tracking, and reporting to maintain governance and efficiency.
  • Delivering high savings targets through implementation of robust sourcing events, ensuring suppliers meet all operational requirements while providing best value for Tesco Underwriting.
  • Consistently tracking and reporting on savings targets for specified sub categories using the agreed process.
  • Using sound judgement to build new and develop existing supplier relationships to ensure continued suitability and create greater value across Tesco Underwriting.
  • Supporting the business to achieve compliance with legal, ethical and social procurement policies with integrity and good judgement.
We need you to have
  • Proven experience of leading RFP processes for Tier 1 suppliers.
  • Experience in professional services and claims supply chain categories.
  • Robust procurement experience for underwriting and claims services.
  • Experience in motor, home or personal lines is advantageous.
  • CIPS qualified or working towards this.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced, evolving environment, ensuring procurement activities align with our strategic objectives.
  • Experience working inside a large corporate entity with global reach.
  • Showing a strategic mindset: seeing ahead to future possibilities and translating them into breakthrough strategies.
  • Building partnerships and working collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives.
