We are recruiting a Procurement Manager/Buyer to join a successful Fresh Produce specialist. This is a pivotal role demanding commercial acumen and technical expertise, offering the opportunity to take full ownership of designated product categories and drive company financial targets.
This position is ideal for a confident, high-performing procurement specialist ready to manage key categories and negotiate at the top level.

Key Responsibilities:

• Category Ownership: Full accountability for the procurement of Fresh Produce across key Fruit categories.
• Negotiation & KPIs: Lead complex price negotiations and manage supplier performance to meet challenging financial KPI's
• Stock Management: Strategic planning and management of stock to guarantee volume and minimize waste across the supply chain.
• Quality & Supplier Relations: Manage successful, positive supplier relationships while ensuring all product quality standards are strictly achieved.
• Data-Driven Decisions: Utilize data and analysis to inform buying strategies and market positioning.

What You'll Bring: Specialist Sector Experience

We require proven expertise gained specifically within the competitive fresh produce sector:

• Senior Experience: Significant experience (3+ years preferred) gained in Buying/Procurement within Fresh Produce (ideally fruit).
• Industry Knowledge: A deep understanding of the entire Fresh Produce Supply Chain.
• Commercial Acumen: Highly numerically minded and confident working with complex data.
• Leadership Qualities: Professional, confident, and highly effective communicator at all levels.
• Resilience: Ability to thrive and meet tight deadlines in a demanding, fast-paced environment.
