Procurement Engineer

Our client, a leader in the defence sector, is currently seeking a Procurement Engineer to join their team on a contract basis in Samlesbury. This role requires expertise in procurement and data management to support their high-profile projects. This is a 6-month contract role with the requirement of being on-site 3 to 4 days per week.

Key Responsibilities:

• Overseeing the procurement process to ensure timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials and equipment
• Analysing data to monitor performance and identify areas for improvement within the supply chain
• Working closely with suppliers to negotiate contracts and ensure compliance with defence industry standards
• Collaborating with internal teams to align procurement strategies with project requirements
• Maintaining accurate records of procurement activities and generating reports for management
• Ensuring that all procurement activities comply with regulations and company policies
• Managing risk and providing solutions to mitigate procurement issues

Job Requirements:

• Experience in procurement, particularly within the defence industry
• Strong data analysis skills with the ability to interpret complex information
• Understanding of procurement regulations and defence industry standards
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills
• Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
