Job Description

A leading Independent Power Producer with operations across America & Europe is seeking a Procurement Director. This senior-level role will be instrumental in defining and executing the company's global procurement and quality assurance strategy across renewable energy projects.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Develop and execute procurement strategies for critical equipment (e.g., solar modules, inverters, wind turbines, batteries, transformers) and services (e.g., EPC, O&M).
  • Lead contract negotiations and framework agreements to secure competitive terms, delivery reliability, and performance guarantees.
  • Align procurement planning and budgeting with overall project timelines and corporate objectives.
  • Build and manage strong supplier relationships, oversee performance evaluations, and conduct risk assessments.
  • Define and implement quality assurance and control protocols throughout the supply chain and project lifecycle.
  • Oversee factory audits, Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs), and on-site inspections.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, construction, and O&M teams to address quality issues and implement preventive measures.
  • Coordinate with legal, project management, finance, and ESG departments to ensure compliance with procurement policies, contractual risk management, and sustainability standards.
  • Monitor and report key procurement KPIs, including cost savings, process efficiency, and quality metrics.
  • Drive supplier development initiatives and continuous improvement in quality management systems.
  • Leverage digital tools (e.g., ERP systems, procurement platforms, QA dashboards) to optimize procurement workflows.
  • Track market trends, material availability, and emerging technologies to maintain a competitive edge.


Candidate Profile:


  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline.
  • 10+ years of experience in procurement and quality management within the renewable energy sector.
  • Demonstrated success in global sourcing and implementation of technical quality programs.
  • Strong technical knowledge of renewable energy systems (e.g., PV, wind, BESS) and relevant standards (e.g., IEC, ISO, UL).
  • Solid understanding of contract management, Incoterms, and international logistics.
  • Excellent negotiation, analytical, and leadership capabilities.
  • Fluency in English is required; proficiency in additional languages is a plus
