At West Northamptonshire Council, we're looking for an experienced and ambitious procurement professional to play a central role in shaping how we deliver high quality, value for money services across the Council for our residents and communities. This is an exciting opportunity to join our forward-thinking central procurement and finance team, where you'll help shape strategy, provide expert advice and deliver end to end procurement services that directly support our corporate plan.

As a senior manager within the procurement team you will;

  • Support the delivery ofa complex and varied procurement pipeline, balancing strategic priorities with operational delivery.
  • Be an experience team leader, motivating and inspiring a team of 4 procurement professionals, including supporting professional development across the team.
  • Be a trusted adviser tokeyservicestakeholders,influencing decisions and supporting major programmes across Council services.
  • Ensuring robust governance, compliance, and risk management processes are adhered to incorporating the latest changes in policy and legislation.
  • Focus on driving process development, including opportunities to innovate and add value.
  • Champion our business partner model, raising the profile of procurement and ensuring best practice is consistently applied across the organisation

As procurement business partner you will be;

  • Full MCIPS membership
  • Able to demonstrate a successful track record and experience in managing high value complex procurement processes.
  • Have extensive working knowledge of public sector procurement regulations both PA23 and PCR 2015.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership skills along with team management experience with expertise in supporting and driving team development.
  • Able to develop and build relations across the organisation with key stakeholders at all levels.
  • Excellent communication skills and be able to provide clear advice and support for complex processes.
