The Role

The Operations & Royalty Distributions department at PRS for Music manages the end-to-end process of distributing royalties to members through quarterly and monthly distributions. The team collaborates across departments to calculate revenue, match music usage data with licensed revenue, and perform control checks for accuracy. There is also involvement in distribution policy decisions and process reviews, ensuring record-breaking distributions to members.

You will work both independently and as part of a team to meet processing targets across various suppliers, ensuring timely and accurate distributions and maximizing revenue for members.

Responsibilities

As our Research Officer, your daily duties will include:

  • Analyzing and interpreting data to identify inconsistencies or errors for constructive outcomes.
  • Performing high-volume, targeted research on music data reporting to meet quality standards.
  • Processing operations including repertoire matching, updating, and creating works, cues, and productions in PRS systems.
  • Following best practices to ensure efficient and accurate payments to members.
  • Meeting distribution deadlines while achieving departmental productivity and quality targets.

About you

  • Proficiency with computer systems, preferably with experience in operating multiple bespoke systems concurrently.
  • Literacy and numeracy skills equivalent to GCSE level in English and Maths.

The Process

Our interview process:

  • First stage: Virtual interview via MS Teams.
  • Second stage: In-person interview at London Bridge Hub.

We use competency-based questions and recommend researching the STAR method to prepare.

Location

Hybrid working model: up to three days remote work per week. A remote-working assessment is required for over 2.5 days remote work.
