Job DescriptionThis is a position for a process safety professional who operates at engineering depth - someone who understands that safety is an outcome of good design, not a layer applied after the fact.
Working across capital projects and live operations on behalf of a complex, high-hazard site in Cork, you will serve as the primary process safety authority - shaping how risk is identified, assessed, and designed out from the earliest stages of project development through to operational delivery.
The Role- Act as the process safety subject matter expert across capital projects and live site operations
- Lead and facilitate HAZOPs, Process Hazard Analysis and structured risk assessments
- Support Management of Change processes and safe design principles at project level
- Provide technical guidance on ATEX classification, hazardous area design and machinery safety
- Support equipment safety, CE marking and compliance with applicable EN and corporate standards
- Work directly with engineering, project and operational teams to embed process safety standards throughout delivery
- Contribute to the development of internal process safety tools, standards and capability
- A strong foundation in process safety within pharma, chemical or high-hazard manufacturing
- Proven experience supporting capital projects and working alongside engineering teams
- Demonstrated capability in HAZOP, PHA, ATEX and machinery safety
- Working knowledge of Irish and EU regulatory frameworks and relevant technical standards
- The ability to influence across project, site and functional boundaries without positional authority
- A practical orientation - you translate standards into real-world application, not the other way around
