A leading accountancy firm is seeking an experienced Private Client Tax Director to join its growing team in Ipswich. This is a senior leadership opportunity for an accomplished tax professional with extensive experience in private client tax advisory and compliance. The successful candidate will lead on complex client matters, oversee a significant portfolio, drive business development initiatives, and play a key role in mentoring senior team members while contributing to the continued growth and success of the firm.
Role Responsibilities- Lead and manage a portfolio of high-value private client relationships, delivering exceptional client service.
- Provide strategic advice on complex personal tax planning and compliance matters.
- Oversee the delivery of complex compliance and advisory assignments, ensuring quality and risk management standards are met.
- Identify and develop opportunities for business growth, fee generation, and cross-service collaboration.
- Build and maintain strong external networks to generate new business opportunities.
- Support and mentor managers and senior team members, promoting professional development and high performance.
- Drive operational improvements, innovation, and efficiency initiatives across the department.
- Contribute to departmental strategy, resource planning, and future growth initiatives.
- Ensure projects are delivered within agreed timelines and budgets.
- Lead on client relationship management, including resolving complex issues and maintaining long-term partnerships.
- Support recruitment activities and workforce planning within the tax team.
- Promote a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performing team culture.
- CTA, ACA, ACCA, CA, ATT qualified or qualified by experience.
- Extensive experience within private client tax gained in an accountancy practice environment.
- Strong technical expertise across personal tax compliance and advisory work.
- Proven experience managing large client portfolios and leading senior teams.
- Strong commercial awareness with experience driving business development and revenue growth.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and make informed strategic decisions.
