Private Client Salaried Partner

On behalf of our client, we are looking to recruit an experienced Private Client lawyer to our clients growing team.

This opportunity would suit an experienced Solicitor or Legal Executive seeking a senior position, with appointments considered from Associate through to Salaried Partner level, depending on experience.

The successful candidate will join a supportive and ambitious team, handling a varied and high-quality caseload whilst playing an important role in the continued development of the department.

The Role:

The successful candidate will manage a broad range of Private Client matters, advising a varied client base that includes high-net-worth individuals, business owners, farming families and those requiring specialist estate and succession planning advice.

Responsibilities will include:

• Drafting Wills and advising on succession planning
• Estate administration and probate matters
• Trust creation, management and administration
• Inheritance tax and estate planning
• Agricultural and rural estate matters
• Business succession and wealth preservation
• Lasting Powers of Attorney and Court of Protection matters
• Managing complex Private Client matters independently
• Developing and maintaining strong client relationships
• Supporting and mentoring junior members of the team
• Contributing to business development and departmental growth

The position offers the opportunity to undertake high-quality work whilst helping to strengthen the firm's presence and client relationships within the Exeter area.

About You:

Applications are welcomed from experienced Private Client lawyers who have strong technical knowledge and are confident managing a varied caseload.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Significant experience handling a broad range of Private Client matters
• Strong knowledge of Wills, probate, trusts and inheritance tax planning
• Experience dealing with complex estates and succession planning
• STEP qualification or a willingness to work towards it
• Experience advising on agricultural, rural or business-related matters would be advantageous
• Excellent communication and client relationship skills
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
• The ability to work independently whilst contributing to a wider team
• An interest in mentoring colleagues and supporting business development

Previous experience in a senior position would be beneficial, although applications will be considered from experienced lawyers looking to take the next step in their careers.
