DescriptionThis role involves managing a portfolio of Private Client compliance work, ensuring timely completion of MTD quarterly reporting, Final Declarations and Self Assessment tax returns, and delivering excellent client service.
Role Purpose- Manage your own client portfolio and act as the main point of contact.
- Ensure timely completion of MTD quarterly reporting, Final Declarations and Self Assessment tax returns.
- Follow AAB Tax Compliance processes and use technology to improve efficiency.
- Financially manage own portfolio, including WIP review, proposals, fee setting and fee uplifts.
- Identify opportunities for additional work and cross sell services.
- Meet annual targets for new work as set by leadership.
- Review work prepared by junior team members.
- Prepare ad hoc advisory work such as CGT reporting, remuneration planning, CGT calculations, Trust registrations, IHT returns.
- Liaise with the Tax Advisory team and other Business Units.
- Provide line management, mentoring and training to junior team members.
- Embed change and adoption of new technology within AAB processes.
- Relevant professional tax qualification (CA, ATT, CTA, STEP or similar).
- At least 2-3 years post qualification experience in a tax compliance Assistant Manager role or higher.
- Experience in Trust and Estate Tax Compliance, TRS, Trust administration and IHT returns.
- Ability to conduct independent technical research.
- Track record of managing a client portfolio with strong client engagement.
- Estate Administration experience.
- Experience using CCH Personal Tax, CCH Trust Accounts and related applications.
- Good knowledge of Excel and Word.
