The HMP Humber Futures Campaign offers a permanent prison officer role at HMP Humber after an initial 23 month deployment at HMP Swaleside. Skilled Worker visa sponsorship may be available.
What's on offer- Accommodation costs covered (up to £750 per month) for up to 23 months.
- Reimbursement for a monthly trip from HMP Swaleside to HMP Humber.
- Recruitment and retention bonus of £1500 after 12 months and again after 23 months.
To become a prison officer you must:
- Be at least 18 years old.
- Meet Civil Service nationality requirements.
- Pass a medical and fitness assessment, meet eyesight and hearing standards.
- Have a suitable level of hearing without aids.
A driving licence and own transport are beneficial but not essential unless specified. Shifts, including weekends, are fixed in time.
Nationality requirements- Republic of Ireland nationals.
- Commonwealth nationals with right to work in the UK.
- EU, Switzerland, Norway, Iceland or Liechtenstein nationals and relevant family members with settled or pre settled status.
- Individuals with limited or indefinite leave to remain who were eligible to apply for EUSS before 31 December 2020.
- Turkish nationals and certain family members with civil service right to work.

- Salaried on a 37 hour contract: starting salary £37,246 (HMP Swaleside).
- Ununsocial hours allowance included.
- Annual holiday 25 days (rising to 30 after 10 years), paid public holidays and one extra privilege day.
