Are you energized by the challenge of shaping and accelerating the scientific expertise of a biology program? If so, this Biology Manager opportunity could be an exciting opportunity to consider.
As Manager of Biology, you will be responsible for providing advanced biology expertise to the biology group, and for developing and mentoring a small team of biology professionals.
This role offers the opportunity to lead key activities that will advance your career, including:
- Developing and enhancing biology analytical platforms and technologies.
- Building scientific expertise through training and supervising a biology team with the necessary scientific and technical skills to support current and future Discovery requests.
- Collaborating with Discovery teams to identify project needs and developing experiments to address project questions within agreed timelines.
- Determining scientific approaches independently and transferring optimized methods to contract research organizations for application to studies.
- Developing and applying industry tools for selected studies.
- Maintaining comprehensive documentation for all experimental work to ensure data integrity.
Why you?
Basic Qualifications:
- PhD in a scientific discipline (e.g., Molecular Biology, Genetics, Immunology).
- 4+ years of experience in translational and biomarker development, neurodegeneration, and bioinformatics tools for large-scale data interpretation.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 6+ years of hands-on laboratory experience in bioassay development and analysis (e.g., ELISA, MSD, Quanterix), flow cytometry, DNA/RNA sequencing, extracellular vesicle isolation, iPSC culture, and emerging technologies.
- Experience working with human systems using cell and molecular biology, bioassays, and analytical methods.
- Knowledge of disease mechanisms, pathways, and application to translational research and biomarker development.
- Proven support of drug discovery projects, peer-reviewed publications, conference presentations, reports, or patents.
- Excellent problem-solving and data analysis skills.
- Strong communication skills for presenting scientific findings to diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and maintain high standards.
- Independent strategic thinking and collaborative teamwork skills.
- Resourcefulness in accessing cutting-edge technologies and research capabilities.
- Experience in designing and executing biomarker-driven clinical trials and developing companion diagnostics.
- Knowledge of regulatory guidelines for translational research and clinical development.
