Principal Planning Officer

Salary: £45,091 - £49,282 per annum

We are looking for a highly skilled, experienced, and passionate Principal Planning Officer to join Devon County Council's planning team. The role focuses on minerals and waste policy and will play a key part in developing the new Minerals and Waste Plan.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver minerals and waste policy, including the new Minerals and Waste Plan.
• Support development and infrastructure delivery across all planning domains.
• Manage policy, development management and infrastructure delivery activities.
• Build trusted relationships with communities, stakeholders and councillors in a political environment.
• Communicate complex issues clearly to diverse audiences.
• Foster an inclusive working culture and support professional development of team members.

Qualifications

• Strong planning knowledge with relevant professional experience.
• Organisational, leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to work confidently in a political setting.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
