Job Description

Our client is currently seeking an experienced Principal Planner to join their dedicated team on a contract basis, offering hybrid working arrangements. This is a temporary position for six months, with the potential for extension.

Principal Planning Officer - minerals and waste

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the development and management of minerals and waste planning projects
  • Provide expert advice on planning applications and policy matters
  • Coordinate and manage consultation processes for planning proposals
  • Prepare comprehensive reports and recommendations for stakeholders
  • Ensure compliance with relevant planning legislation and regulations
  • Engage with various stakeholders, including local authorities and community groups
  • Support the delivery of sustainable development objectives
  • Mentor and guide junior planning staff as required
Job Requirements:
  • Experience in minerals and waste planning
  • Strong proficiency in development management processes
  • Ability to interpret and apply planning legislation and policies
  • Excellent organisational and project management skills
  • High-level written and verbal communication abilities
  • Capability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Relevant planning degree or equivalent qualification
