The OpportunityThis is an exciting chance to join a well established engineering consultancy delivering high value projects across the UK, supporting programmes from early concept through to construction and operational support.
The RoleThis role would suit candidates working in the positions of Principal Mechanical Engineer, Senior Mechanical Engineer, Mechanical Design Lead, Mechanical Engineering Manager, Mechanical Project Engineer, Lead Mechanical Engineer, Mechanical Consultant, Mechanical Systems Engineer. We would also welcome applications from those with experience in the nuclear, defence, pharmaceuticals, chemical processing or energy generation sectors.
Your duties and responsibilities will be- Lead and deliver mechanical engineering studies across multiple project phases, from front end development through to commissioning and operational support.
- Develop and review mechanical designs, calculations, drawings and specifications, ensuring compliance with safety, quality and regulatory requirements.
- Provide technical input on complex mechanical handling systems, bulk or powder based processes, and specialist mechanical equipment in controlled environments.
- Interface effectively with multidisciplinary teams, supply chain partners and internal specialists to ensure robust, coordinated solutions.
- Support and mentor junior engineers, contributing to technical assurance and continuous improvement within the team.
- Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
- Significant post graduate experience delivering mechanical engineering design within the nuclear sector or another regulated industry.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical design through all lifecycle stages, including design substantiation, supplier document review and site support.
- Background in producing mechanical solutions that consider manufacture, installation, commissioning, operation and eventual decommissioning.
- Eligibility to work in the UK and willingness to achieve the necessary security clearance.
