Principal Integrated Transport Officer
Hours: 37 hours per week

Job OverviewLead the development and delivery of integrated transport strategies and projects across Herefordshire, ensuring sustainable connectivity and smart investment for the valued community.
Responsibilities- Lead the delivery of the integrated transport elements of the Local Transport Plan.
- Drive the Local Cycling, Walking and Wheeling Infrastructure Plan (LCWWIP).
- Identify and secure funding opportunities, developing successful bids for DfT streams.
- Work closely with partners including Active Travel England, local stakeholders and community groups.
- Commission and manage projects and consultants, ensuring high-quality delivery and value for money.
- Provide expert advice to senior officers and elected members to inform key decisions.
- Engage with the public and stakeholders to develop transport solutions that reflect local needs.
- Support and guide colleagues, contributing to a collaborative team environment.
- Degree (or equivalent) and a relevant professional qualification in transport, planning or related field.
- Experience in transport planning, policy development or active travel delivery.
- Good understanding of national transport policy and funding opportunities.
- Experience of managing projects, budgets and external consultants.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to analyse information and turn ideas into practical solutions.
- Collaborative and supportive approach to working with colleagues and partners.
- Salary range £46,142 - £50,269 (HC10).
