Principal GPU Hardware Design Engineer

This is a rare opportunity to work at the heart of next-generation GPU technology, helping to design the foundational silicon IP that powers billions of devices worldwide - from mobile and automotive to smart and connected systems.

We're partnering with a world-leading semiconductor IP company whose graphics and compute architectures set industry benchmarks for performance, power efficiency, and scalability. As a Staff GPU HW Design Engineer, you'll take technical ownership of complex hardware blocks and influence architectures used across multiple product generations.

What you'll be doing
  • Designing and optimising complex GPU hardware modules at RTL level
  • Developing micro-architecture specifications and execution plans
  • Analysing and balancing frequency, area, power, and performance (PPA) trade-offs
  • Collaborating closely with verification, validation, and architecture teams
  • Debugging and resolving design issues across the silicon lifecycle
  • Participating in design reviews and driving continuous improvement
  • Mentoring junior engineers and contributing to a strong engineering culture
  • Staying at the forefront of modern ASIC/GPU design techniques and tools
What we're looking for Essential
  • Strong background in digital IC design methodologies
  • Hands-on RTL design experience (SystemVerilog) at IP or SoC level
  • Experience optimising designs for performance-critical silicon
  • Familiarity with ASIC and/or FPGA design flows
  • Strong analytical mindset and problem-solving ability
Nice to have
  • Exposure to GPU, CPU, DSP, or FPU architectures
  • Knowledge of formal verification and design intent capture
  • Experience with P&R / physical design flows
  • Programming skills in C, C++, Python, SystemC, Perl, or TCL
  • Understanding of UVM-based verification environments
