Principal Geotechnical Engineer

Location: Edinburgh

Salary: £40,000 - £50,000

We are seeking a talented and experienced Principal Geotechnical Engineer to join a diverse team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in geotechnical engineering, environmental consultancy, and contaminated land assessment. As a Principal Geotechnical Engineer, you'll be given the opportunity to take on more responsibilities, playing a key role in leading and overseeing ground investigations, managing projects, and providing expert guidance to our team.

The Principal Geotechnical Engineer selected will be:

  • Lead and manage geotechnical and environmental projects from conception to completion
  • Oversee and conduct comprehensive ground investigations and assessments
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance on geotechnical and contaminated land issues
  • Mentor and lead a team of engineers and technicians
  • Develop and maintain client relationships and lead business development initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and safety standards
  • Collaborate with other departments and disciplines to deliver integrated solutions

To be considered for the Principal Geotechnical Engineer role you must have:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or related field
  • Considerable experience in geotechnical engineering and consultancy
  • Strong project management skills and experience overseeing ground investigations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven track record of business development and client management
  • Live in or near to Edinburgh
  • Full right to work in the UK
  • Full UK Driving Licence
