Job Opportunity: Principal Level Geo-Environmental Engineer

My client offers an exciting opportunity for a Principal Level Geo-Environmental Engineer at their Milton Keynes or Swindon offices, with excellent prospects for development and progression within a smaller, dynamic consultancy.

The company is a busy and friendly firm specializing in geo-environmental, geotechnical, and site investigation services. They operate on projects of varying sizes across the south of England, Wales, and the Midlands, serving clients ranging from small to medium house builders, commercial businesses, and mineral extraction industries. This environment provides staff with a broad knowledge base in a short period.

Responsibilities
  1. Manage and mentor a small team of Engineers
  2. Serve as the technical lead within the team
  3. Conduct Site Contamination Assessments from Stage 1 Tier 1 to Stage 3
  4. Perform Site Investigations for geotechnical appraisal and combined investigations using standard techniques
  5. Schedule contamination, waste classification, and geotechnical laboratory testing
  6. Design remediation works and validate results
  7. Write interpretative geo-environmental reports
  8. Manage projects and liaise with clients, including project cost control
  9. Perform infiltration testing
  10. Maintain good HSEQ understanding
  11. Hold a full clean driving license
Qualifications

The candidate should be degree qualified in a relevant field, with a Master's Degree being advantageous. Chartership with a relevant professional body is also desirable.

Experience and Skills

The candidate must have substantial experience in Ground Investigation, particularly in Geo-Environmental aspects. A thorough understanding of contaminated land legislation and consultancy practices is essential. Knowledge of interpretative geotechnical report writing, the EIA process, and reporting would be beneficial.
