Job Title: Principal Electrical Power Engineer

Location: Barrow-In-Furness (Hybrid) - We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements. Please speak to your recruiter about the options for this role.

What you'll be doing:

  1. Designing and defining Electrical Power Systems equipment.
  2. Authoring and reviewing technical documentation.
  3. Managing technical risks, assumptions, and dependencies.
  4. Providing advice on electrical power issues across engineering disciplines.
  5. Engaging with customers and suppliers to solve complex problems.
  6. Leading and guiding junior team members through systems definition.
  7. Traveling to various locations across the UK, including BAE, customer, and supplier sites.

Your skills and experiences:

  1. Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
  2. Chartership in Engineering or significant progress towards it.
  3. Knowledge of AC and DC electrical power systems.
  4. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  5. Experience with Permanent Magnet Motors/Generators.

As a Principal Electrical Power Engineer, you will join a new team working on innovative technologies for the British Navy, focusing on Turbo Generators. We provide relocation support for eligible roles across all Submarine positions.
