Overview of Role

At FinTrU, our Product Technology team is seeking an experienced Principal DevOps Engineer to lead the design, deployment, and optimization of high-quality solutions. The role involves contributing to both product and platform development, collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive operational excellence, advocating for best practices in automation, reliability, and performance, and mentoring junior engineers to foster a collaborative work environment.

Please note this role is not open to London, and we are not accepting applicants wishing to be based in mainland GB. The role is hybrid and can be based at our Belfast or Derry offices.

You should apply if you have:

  • 7+ years of experience in a software development environment, within a hands-on product support/DevOps role, with demonstrable examples of RCA, support techniques, and extensive incident management experience.
  • Expert-level proficiency in Azure Cloud, Azure DevOps, Docker, and Kubernetes.
  • Experience in building, enhancing, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for automated software delivery.
  • Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices and tools such as Terraform and Ansible.

This is an opportunity to:

  • Collaborate with product and architecture teams to enhance the quality and performance of solutions, ensuring optimal service delivery.
  • Drive the adoption of DevOps practices, deliver performance improvements, and ensure high availability and reliability.
  • Implement and manage automation tools and IaC solutions to streamline processes and improve system efficiency.
  • Lead incident response efforts, including root cause analysis for critical failures.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a culture of learning and improvement.
