Principal Consultant, Implementation Services, Charles River Development, Vice President

The Principal Consultant will be an integral player of the Charles River implementation team. He/She brings technical expertise and direction to implementation teams, ensuring proper implementation of Charles River's IMS suite at our clients. This is a hands-on leadership role which includes technical leadership and technical expertise in all aspects of a consulting project, from installation of n-tier software and integration with third-party systems to DR/HA design, documenting, and performing technical training for the client. System integrations will involve XML messaging, Charles River web services API, ETL tools, and database administration tasks.

Responsibilities:

• Provide administrative oversight to a group of Senior Technical Consultants
• Provide technical thought leadership to the team
• Track project progress across other consultants, allocate resources, and mentor new hires
• Manage multiple technical initiatives, potentially on multiple projects simultaneously
• Develop with a result-driven approach while maintaining implementation schedules
• Be self-motivated and able to motivate the team
• Work in a dynamic, fast-paced team environment

Requirements:

• BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent
• 8+ years of related experience
• 5+ years managing technical consultants
• 3+ years technical project management
• Proven leadership qualities
• Experience in solution delivery and managing client expectations
• Problem-solving skills and long-term solution recognition
• Detail-oriented and capable of multitasking
• Self-starter, able to work independently and in teams
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Willingness to travel (25%)
• Technical experience in XML, XSLT, ERDs, Tomcat, N-tier architecture, SOAP/XML, messaging software, RDBMS (Oracle or MS SQL Server), Java, C#, Windows, Linux, ETL tools, SCM, Perl, reporting tools

Preferred:

• Financial industry experience
• Consulting background
• System integration using ETL tools
• Experience with Perforce
