Responsibilities

As a senior technical leader in our Power Systems Team, you will play a key role in delivering complex consultancy projects, guiding junior engineers, supporting business development, and ensuring technical excellence in power systems studies.

  • Lead and deliver power systems study projects (steady-state, RMS, and EMT-based)
  • Support and prepare technical and commercial proposals
  • Apply study results to system design and equipment specifications
  • Interact with clients, grid operators, developers, EPCs, and OEMs
  • Mentor junior team members and contribute to internal knowledge growth

Technical Expertise - You Bring At Least 5 of the Following:

  • Load Flow, Reactive Power, Short-Circuit, Power Quality & Stability Studies
  • Protection coordination and Arc Flash analysis
  • Insulation coordination (EMT), TRV, Ferro-resonance analysis
  • Techno-economic assessments and grid compliance studies
  • HVDC systems and sub-synchronous interaction studies
  • Scripting/automation of power analysis tools
  • Experience with software such as PowerFactory, PSCAD, PSSE, ETAP, Python, MATLAB
  • Substation design and equipment specification
  • Renewable integration and corresponding grid codes
  • Technical due diligence for power projects
What You'll Need
  • Bachelor's, MSc or PhD in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • 10+ years' relevant professional experience
  • Chartered Engineer status (CEng) desirable
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Experience with UK Grid/Distribution Codes and stakeholders (e.g., NGESO, DNOs, developers)
