Principal Clinical Psychologist - Locality Leads - East Cheshire

We are looking to recruit a Principal Clinical Psychologist to our CRHTT based in Congleton, East Cheshire. The post is part of a wider workforce plan in Acute Psychology provision that demonstrates CWP's commitment to improving psychological and trauma informed care for patients, families and staff. The role is 0.8 WTE and we consider flexible and/or hybrid working.

Main duties
  • Provide clinical and professional leadership within the CRHTT.
  • Work with the Consultant Clinical Psychologist and local leadership team to enhance and evaluate the psychological care offer.
  • Champion relational, person centred ways of working, embedding humanity and compassion across the acute pathway.
  • Deliver training, consultancy, supervision and support to the multidisciplinary team.
  • Lead service evaluation, audit and research as part of ongoing quality improvements.
  • Provide highly specialist psychological assessments, interventions, and input to care and discharge planning.
  • Maintain strong connections to the three DClinPsy regional training programmes (Liverpool, Lancaster and Manchester).
  • Join the CWP Senior Psychologists Group and engage in clinical and professional development opportunities.
  • Advocate flexible, part time and job sharing arrangements, with a favourable consideration for such requests.
Qualifications
  • Post graduate doctoral level training in clinical psychology (accredited by the BPS) or equivalent for those trained prior to 1996.
  • Post doctoral training in one or more specialised areas of psychological practice.
  • HCPC registration.
  • BPS chartered status and/or membership of ACPUK.
Knowledge and Expertise
  • Extremely specialist skills in complex psychological and cognitive/neuropsychological assessment, intervention and evaluation.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to convey highly technical, clinically sensitive information.
  • Formal training and expertise in supervising trainee clinical psychologists.
  • Deep knowledge of applied psychology and specialised psychological therapies for complex difficulties.
  • Awareness of leadership models and systems thinking.
Experience
  • Substantial experience as a qualified clinical psychologist.
  • Experience providing consultation, training, support and supervision to other professionals and non professionals.
  • Experience working in multidisciplinary teams.
  • Involvement in local and/or national academic or professional bodies.

Contract and Working Pattern

Permanent part time flexible working with compressed hours.
