About the role

An exciting opportunity has arisen in our Liverpool city centre office for a Principal Bridge Engineer to complement our talented team.

Located just a two-minute walk from Moorfields Station, our contemporary Liverpool offices boast a prime central location with views of the River Mersey.

In this role, you'll lead on a variety of interesting Highways and Rail structures schemes from concept through to completion, working alongside a team of experienced engineers.

Key responsibilities:

  • Manage projects from concept to completion.
  • Review and sign off on designs, specifications, and technical reports in accordance with DMRB and design codes.
  • Prepare fee proposals.
  • Carry out bridge inspections and assessments.
  • Liaise with clients and contractors.
  • Mentor and develop junior members of the team.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering.
  • Chartered Engineer status.
  • Extensive experience in bridge design, assessment, and rehabilitation.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant codes and standards.
  • Proven project management and leadership skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
