KS1 Primary Teacher - Tower Hamlets September 2026

Location: Tower Hamlets (near Island Gardens / Canary Wharf)
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Full-time Permanent
Salary: MPS (Inner London)
Key Stage: KS1 - Year 2

The School & Role

A forward-thinking and inclusive primary school in the Isle of Dogs area of Tower Hamlets is seeking a committed KS1 Primary Teacher to join their team from September 2026.

The school has a strong community feel and serves a diverse intake, with a clear focus on raising attainment through high-quality first teaching and consistent routines. There is a particular emphasis on early literacy, with a well-embedded phonics programme and a structured approach to reading and writing development.

The successful teacher will take responsibility for a Year 2 class, supporting pupils through a key stage of consolidation and preparation for end of KS1 assessments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Planning and delivering engaging KS1 lessons
  • Supporting phonics, reading, writing and maths development
  • Using assessment to track progress and inform teaching
  • Creating a calm, structured and engaging classroom environment
  • Working closely with KS1 colleagues and support staff
The Ideal Candidate
  • Holds QTS with recent UK primary experience
  • Has strong KS1 knowledge, particularly phonics
  • Demonstrates confident classroom management
  • Is organised, reflective and proactive
  • Works effectively as part of a team
