Job Description
SEND Teacher - Primary SEND School

Location: Bournemouth Contract: Full-Time Start Date: September 2026

A dedicated and nurturing primary SEND school is seeking a passionate SEND Teacher to join their team this September. This role offers the opportunity to work in a highly supportive specialist setting, teaching small classes of 8-10 pupils with a range of additional needs, including SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health), Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), and ADHD.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver differentiated lessons to meet a range of SEND needs
  • Support pupils with SEMH needs, promoting positive behaviour and emotional regulation
  • Adapt teaching strategies to support pupils with ASC and ADHD
  • Work collaboratively with Teaching Assistants and external professionals
  • Monitor, assess and track pupil progress
  • Create a safe, structured and engaging learning environment

Requirements
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) - essential
  • Experience working with SEND pupils, particularly SEMH, ASC and ADHD
  • Strong behaviour management and a calm, consistent approach
  • Patience, resilience and a genuine passion for SEND education
  • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
