Job Description

A welcoming and inclusive Primary School in Hertfordshire is seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join their team. The role involves supporting pupils with special educational needs and creating a positive, nurturing environment where children are encouraged to develop confidence, independence, and achieve their full potential.

The successful candidate will work closely with teaching staff and the wider support team to provide tailored support for pupils, helping them access learning and make progress both academically and personally.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with pupils with SEND or additional needs is essential
  • A genuine passion for supporting children with special educational needs
  • Commitment to making a positive impact on pupils' learning, development, and wellbeing
  • Strong communication, patience, and teamwork skills
  • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and support their individual needs

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEND, helping them engage with learning activities
  • Work alongside teachers and support staff to promote pupil progress and achievement
  • Support the implementation of individual learning and behaviour strategies
  • Help maintain effective classroom routines and create a structured learning environment
  • Promote a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom where all pupils can thrive
