Hours: Full-time Monday to Friday 8:30am - 3:30pm

Pay: £107.71 per day

Milk Education is working with a welcoming primary school in Gateshead to recruit a dedicated Primary School Teaching Assistant to join their team from September. This is a fantastic opportunity to support children in their learning and development while becoming part of a friendly and supportive school community.

Primary School Teaching Assistant - Responsibilities

As a Primary School Teaching Assistant, you will:

• Support the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons and classroom activities
• Provide one-to-one and small group support where required
• Help pupils develop their literacy, numeracy and wider curriculum skills
• Encourage positive behaviour and active engagement in learning
• Support pupils' social, emotional and academic development
• Prepare learning resources and help maintain an organised classroom environment
• Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff to monitor pupil progress
• Follow safeguarding procedures and help maintain a safe, inclusive learning environment

Primary School Teaching Assistant - Criteria

We're looking for someone who has:

• Recent experience working with primary-aged children
• A Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable)
• A positive, patient and proactive approach to supporting learning
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• A genuine passion for helping children achieve their potential
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
• Local to Gateshead or surrounding areas - no relocation
