Pay: £107.71 per day
Milk Education is working with a welcoming primary school in Gateshead to recruit a dedicated Primary School Teaching Assistant to join their team from September. This is a fantastic opportunity to support children in their learning and development while becoming part of a friendly and supportive school community.
Primary School Teaching Assistant - ResponsibilitiesAs a Primary School Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Support the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons and classroom activities
- Provide one-to-one and small group support where required
- Help pupils develop their literacy, numeracy and wider curriculum skills
- Encourage positive behaviour and active engagement in learning
- Support pupils' social, emotional and academic development
- Prepare learning resources and help maintain an organised classroom environment
- Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff to monitor pupil progress
- Follow safeguarding procedures and help maintain a safe, inclusive learning environment
We're looking for someone who has:
- Recent experience working with primary-aged children
- A Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable)
- A positive, patient and proactive approach to supporting learning
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A genuine passion for helping children achieve their potential
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
- Local to Gateshead or surrounding areas - no relocation
