PRIFF UK Volunteer Film Selector and Script Reader

Commitment: 1 day per week (remote) from the end of May to November
PRIFF is expanding their selection team and is looking for passionate, reliable volunteers to support the curation of their 2026 festival. This is a split role with two distinct pathways: applicants will contribute either as a Film Selector (watching and assessing films) or a Script Reader (evaluating written submissions). You will focus on only one area, depending on your interests and strengths.
Film Selector- Watch and assess short and feature film submissions across a range of genres
- Provide clear written feedback and scoring based on festival criteria
- Identify standout work that aligns with PRIFF's programming strands
- Read and evaluate short film scripts, TV pilots, and feature-length screenplays
- Provide written coverage, including strengths, areas for development, and overall assessment
- Highlight promising scripts for further consideration
- A strong interest in film and storytelling
- Clear written communication and critical thinking skills
- Reliability and the ability to commit to a consistent weekly schedule
- For Script Readers: a good understanding of screenplay structure, character, and dialogue
- Previous experience is welcome but not essential
- Practical experience in film selection or script coverage within an international festival
- Insight into emerging talent and current trends in filmmaking and writing
- Opportunities to connect with a network of creatives and industry peers
- A direct role in shaping the PRIFF 2026 programme
Volunteers in London can receive a per diem for lunch and travel to the festival on days they are working.
Volunteers also get access to all blocks, a discount on tickets for friends and family, and free access to the awards ceremony.
