Pricing Actuary

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and motivated nearly or recently qualified Pricing Actuary to join our growing team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in leading quotation opportunities, research and development, and building relationships with clients to support our life reinsurance business in UK & Ireland.

Key Responsibilities

• Contribute to the growth of the UK & Ireland Protection team
• Price protection business efficiently and accurately
• Liaise closely with Client Partners to meet commercial goals
• Work on research projects critical to mortality and morbidity trends across the UK and Ireland

Qualifications

• Reinsurance/Insurance life pricing skills
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills with ability to interpret complex data
• Data validation
• Strong knowledge of R Coding (or similar)
• Solid grasp of Actuarial Mathematics including practical application
• Demonstrated analytical, problem identification and resolution skills with attention to detail
• Highly motivated
• Comfort with ambiguity including data ambiguity
• Proven analytical skills and ability to work on complex problems
• Self motivated with ability to manage time and multiple priorities effectively
• High degree of accountability
• Strong interpersonal skills
• High degree of personal competence (self awareness, self management)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English (internal stakeholders), including ability to communicate complex technical issues effectively

Work Experience

• 3+ years of relevant reinsurance or insurance life pricing experience

Education/Professional Qualifications

• Fellow or Associate of an internationally recognised actuarial society
• Nearly qualified candidates will also be considered
