Pre-Sales Solutions Engineer

Salary: Not Disclosed + Equity

Company Description: Hook - Series A AI-powered revenue growth platform backed by Balderton and Lightspeed.

Location: London, UK

Job Description: As Hook's first Pre Sales Solutions Engineer, you will bridge the gap between complex data architecture and business value. You'll lead technical discovery for enterprise deals, building POCs and navigating APIs to show how ML driven insights predict churn and capture expansion revenue for the world's fastest growing SaaS companies.

Why this role is remarkable:
  • Founding member of the Pre Sales function, giving you the unique opportunity to build playbooks, create technical content, and shape the go to market strategy from scratch.
  • High growth trajectory at a Sifted top 100 startup backed by tier one investors like Balderton Capital and Lightspeed Venture Partners.
  • Direct impact on high stakes enterprise cycles ($100k+ ACV) where you act as the trusted technical advisor to CTOs and VP Engineering buyers.
What you will do:
  • Lead deep diving technical discovery sessions to map prospect data sources, workflows, and integration requirements to Hook's AI capabilities.
  • Build and demonstrate lightweight proofs of concept, sample integrations, and API workflows that validate technical fit and feasibility.
  • Own the technical post discovery landscape, including security reviews, RFPs, and the creation of detailed Statements of Work for enterprise implementations.
The ideal candidate:
  • Has 2 4+ years of experience in pre sales, solutions engineering, or technical consulting specifically within the SaaS or data platform space.
  • Possesses strong technical credibility with the ability to read and write code (Python or JavaScript) and discuss REST APIs and data pipelines.
  • Excels at translating complex machine learning and data architecture concepts into clear, persuasive business value for both technical and commercial stakeholders.
