Pre-Construction Manager - Solar PV
Location: Cork (Hybrid) Full-Time Permanent
Salary: €70,000-€85,000
The CompanyAn international renewable energy contractor delivering solar PV and distributed energy projects across Ireland and Europe.
The Irish team focuses on commercial and utility-scale installations, with projects typically delivered under EPC and PPA structures.
Work covers the full lifecycle - from early design and planning through to construction and energisation - with a growing pipeline of solar developments moving through pre construction.
The RoleThe Pre-Construction Manager will take ownership of projects before they break ground, ensuring everything is lined up for a smooth transition into delivery.
- Lead projects from early design through to construction handover
- Coordinate design, planning, grid interface and commercial inputs
- Manage the design development process through to IFC stage
- Track planning permissions, permits and statutory approvals
- Work with internal teams across engineering, commercial, legal and H&S
- Manage external consultants, utilities and design partners
- Develop and maintain programmes covering design, permitting and procurement
- Prepare pre construction H&S documentation and ensure alignment with site delivery
- Support bids with input around design assumptions, risks and constraints
This is a central role where you act as the link between development, design and construction teams.
The PersonThe role is open to candidates with experience across pre construction, design or project delivery in energy or infrastructure.
- Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, QS or similar, or equivalent experience
- Typically 5+ years' experience in pre construction, engineering or project management
- Backgrounds may include Pre-Construction Manager, Design Manager, Project Manager or Engineer within renewables or utilities
- Experience in solar PV, energy or infrastructure projects is preferred
- Strong understanding of design coordination, permitting and construction readiness
- Comfortable managing multiple projects and stakeholders at once
- Proficient with programming tools (MS Project or similar)
- Clear communicator, able to deal with both technical and commercial teams
- €70,000-€85,000 salary, depending on experience
