Power Automate & Power Platform Technical Expert (Governance & Automation Specialist) - UN Agency Client in ROME | Fully Remote

For our world-famous UN agency client, we are looking for an experienced Power Platform Governance & Automation Specialist.

This is primarily a senior hands-on technical role focusing on Power Platform governance, architecture, monitoring and automation - not simply Power Apps/Power Automate development.

We are particularly interested in experts who have actually designed and implemented Power Platform governance in complex enterprise environments, including environment strategy, DLP policies, connector governance, Managed Environments and the Center of Excellence (CoE) Toolkit.

Duties and responsibilities

The expert will lead the governance, controls, monitoring and ongoing evolution of the organization's Microsoft Power Platform environment, covering Power Automate, Power Apps, Dataverse and connectors.

Key responsibilities include:

• Design, implement and maintain enterprise-level Power Platform governance, controls and guardrails, including environment strategy, DLP policies and connector governance.
• Establish monitoring, alerting and reporting for Power Automate flows and Power Platform solutions, including usage, capacity, licensing, failures and compliance.
• Develop a target-state Power Platform environment architecture and migration plan for existing Power Apps and flows.
• Define and maintain architecture, standards and the technology roadmap for automation and low-code development.
• Lead the design, implementation, modernization and life cycle management of Power Automate flows and Power Platform solutions.
• Implement Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) practices, including solution management, source control and controlled deployment across development, test and production environments.
• Review, rationalize and remediate existing flows and apps regarding ownership, security, error handling and governance.
• Provide technical oversight and design assurance for Power Platform projects, migrations, upgrades and vendor-delivered solutions.
• Maintain architecture and governance documentation and ensure effective knowledge transfer and operational readiness.

Professional requirements

• 10+ years of professional experience with Microsoft tools and technologies in enterprise environments.
• 5+ years of demonstrable hands-on experience with Power Automate and Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, Dataverse).
• Strong practical experience implementing enterprise-level Power Platform governance, controls and monitoring.
• Hands-on expertise with environment strategies, DLP policies, connector management, Managed Environments, Center of Excellence (CoE) Toolkit and tenant-level administration.
• Previous experience setting up Power Platform governance for enterprise organizations is highly desirable.
• Experience with monitoring, alerting, reporting, capacity/licensing management and flow reliability.
• Hands-on Power Platform ALM, including solutions, source control integration and automated deployment pipelines.
• Good understanding of Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Azure, Microsoft Entra ID and API/connector integration.
• Experience leading end-to-end solution delivery from requirements and architecture through deployment and transition to operations.
• Ability to develop solution architectures, technical roadmaps, standards and design documentation.
• Microsoft Power Platform certifications are a plus.
