Postal Delivery Driver

As a Postal Delivery Driver in Swindon, you will join Pertemps' team supporting Royal Mail, starting immediately on a temporary basis. This full-time position offers £13.69 per hour for 40 hours weekly, with shifts running Monday to Friday from 08:30 to 16:30, plus required weekend availability. Your day begins at the local delivery office, where you sort and load mail before navigating routes using a handheld device for signature capture. The role involves delivering letters and parcels on foot and by vehicle, covering up to eight miles daily, while lifting mail bags weighing up to 16kg. You will work independently outdoors, providing excellent customer service throughout your rounds.

Key Responsibilities

• Start your shift at the local delivery office to sort and load your deliveries
• Use a handheld device for signature capture and route navigation
• Deliver letters and parcels by foot and/or vehicle - walking up to 8 miles per day
• Lift and carry mail bags (up to 16kg) and parcels (up to 20kg)
• Use delivery trolleys when required

Requirements

• Full UK manual driving licence (maximum 6 points; clean licence preferred)
• Previous delivery or driving experience is beneficial but not essential
• Excellent time management and customer service skills
• Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
