Purpose of the Role

You will work alongside the Underwriting Director for Casualty, primarily responsible for Financial and Professional Lines. Your main focus will be ensuring adherence to the business plan and underwriting performance for this class of business.

You will collaborate with the Portfolio Management team to define and optimise the annual strategy based on market conditions. Together with the Underwriting Director, you will set underwriting appetite and ensure the KiDS portfolio aligns with this to maintain profitability. You will provide leadership and guidance to reporting Underwriters and assist in strategic discussions with broker partners regarding underwriting appetite and rationale. Additionally, you will work with the Algorithmic and Pricing teams as a subject matter expert, contributing specialty product and market knowledge to shape underwriting, pricing, and distribution models.

You will also be responsible for providing insights for various committees, including but not limited to the Portfolio Underwriting Committee, Underwriting Governance Committee, Performance vs. Plan, Reserving Committee, and Major Loss Panel.
