Job Description

The Portfolio Analytics & Insights Lead is responsible for shaping and delivering data-driven insights that drive strategic decision making across a complex change and transformation portfolio. The leadership role oversees a team of Portfolio Analysts and tooling experts, guiding the use of portfolio data, metrics, and AI-enhanced insights to optimise performance, prioritisation and value delivery.

You'll work closely with senior stakeholders, PMO and Change functions, and delivery teams to embed a culture of insight-led portfolio management. This role combines strategic thinking, technical expertise, and people leadership to ensure the effective use of data, automation, and modern tooling - including Jira and AI powered solutions, across a hybrid portfolio environment.

What You'll Do

  • Lead, manage and grow a high-performing team of portfolio analysts and Jira and Agile delivery tooling specialists.
  • Define and implement a portfolio analytics strategy that supports executive decision-making, benefits realisation, and enterprise-level planning.
  • Translate portfolio data into actionable insights using tooling and emerging AI capabilities.
  • Champion the use of AI and automation to streamline reporting, forecasting, and value tracking.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and OKR frameworks to track performance, risk, and delivery outcomes.
  • Transform raw data into clear, concise, and impactful visualisations, such as dashboards and reports, tailored to different audiences.
  • Ensure data integrity and accuracy through robust validation processes.
  • Partner with senior leaders and delivery teams to drive alignment between data, strategy, and transformation priorities.
  • Build capability and consistency in portfolio insight practices through, coaching, process improvement and governance.

Experience Required

We're looking for a forward-thinking leader who can connect the dots between our data, people, and strategy. Specifically, we're looking for someone with:

  • Experience leading portfolio analytics, PMO insights or similar within a large, complex change environment.
  • Advanced skills in data analytics, visualisation, Agile, and relevant tooling.
  • Strong data storytelling skills, with experience influencing executive stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership and management skills with a people-first approach.
  • A track-record of negotiating and influencing at executive level.
  • Proven ability to manage and develop teams with a mix of analytical and tooling responsibilities.
  • Knowledge of emerging AI tools and use cases for portfolio management.
  • Portfolio management experience is key, the following qualifications and/or experience would be beneficial: Lean Portfolio Management, Management of Portfolios (MoP) Practitioner, Leading SAFe, ILM Level 5+, P3O Practitioner, and knowledge of Power BI, Jira, data/analytics disciplines.

Location

This can be aremote role with a requirement to attend our Cardiff office once a quarter or as and when required. If you live within 50 miles of our Cardiff office, the requirement would be once a month in the office.
