Porter Facilities Private Hospital Permanent Full-time & Part-time available Southampton

Spire Southampton Hospital is looking for an experienced and motivated Porter to join our dedicated Facilities team. This role is essential in helping us deliver the highest standards of patient care and ensuring our hospital runs smoothly, safely and efficiently. As a Porter, you will provide vital support across the hospital, including the safe movement of patients, equipment and supplies.

Spire Southampton Hospital offers world class care, attracting patients from across the South of England and internationally. We deliver some of the best cardiac surgery results in the country. Our Critical Care department and multidisciplinary team offer you peace of mind for our wide range of treatments.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • To transfer and guide patients safely around the hospital, as required, in a caring, sympathetic and professional manner
  • Move clinical equipment, medical supplies, goods and other items as required
  • Responsible for the safe management of the collection and disposal of waste, both domestic and clinical in line with corporate and hospital policy WM01
  • Support clinical teams by maintaining a clean, safe and organised environment
  • Respond promptly to portering requests and prioritise tasks effectively
  • Deliver excellent customer service to patients, visitors and colleagues
  • Uphold safety, infection control and patient handling standards
  • Report any maintenance issues to the Maintenance department
  • Complete additional portering and facilities tasks to support smooth running of the hospital
Who we're looking for:
  • Experience of working in a similar role and delivering frontline customer service
  • Good communication and organisational skills
  • Excellent customer care skills
  • Ability to work without supervision
  • Caring and sympathetic
  • Ability to work evenings, nights and weekends
  • Due to the physical demands of the role, including moving equipment and assisting with patient transport, you will need to be able to perform these essential duties safely
Working Hours:

We have x1 Part time & x1 Full time available.

Part time shift Patten:

22.5 hours across 3 days. Monday Sunday on a rota with shifts between 6am-10pm

Full time shifts pattern:

37.5 hours acrossSat & Sun 08:00-21:00, Monday 8:00-20:00
