Senior Policy Manager

About People's Partnership:

At the heart of our not-for-profit organisation is a commitment and a motivation to make the future saving experience a simple one for our members. We champion fairness and simplicity, not profit chasing. Imagine a financial adventure where everyone's a winner, fuelled by our exceptional service and brought to life by the fantastic individuals who work for us. We're a diverse employer with a flexible, hybrid working approach, ensuring everyone gets the opportunity to come to work and be the best version of themselves.

What you'll be doing:

As our Senior Policy Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping People's Partnership's policy direction - working closely with senior leaders and our Policy & Public Affairs team to develop clear, coherent positions that align with our strategy and brand. You'll champion these positions across government, regulatory bodies, and the wider pensions and corporate landscape, acting as a trusted senior adviser on public policy changes. In this influential role, you'll also contribute to the evolution of our policy and advocacy strategy, leading the drafting of evidence submissions and consultation responses. By collaborating with internal colleagues and external stakeholders, you'll ensure our voice reflects the needs of People's Partnership, our members, and The People's Pension, while driving meaningful impact across the sector.

  • Take a leading role in delivering the People's Partnership's Policy objectives.
  • Devise and advocate policy positions that further the interests of People's Partnership, the membership of The People's Pension and are consistent with People's Partnership's strategy.
  • Arrange and provide briefings and support for senior level meetings and events.
  • Ensure stakeholder lists are up to date; manage relationships with key stakeholders at a working level, attend relevant roundtables and events.
  • Brief internal stakeholders on forthcoming policy developments.
  • Lead on advocacy work around the Pension Schemes Bill, focusing on provision of technical advice to the business on compliance with new legislative requirements and advocacy of People's Partnership's policy positions on secondary legislation.

What we're looking for:

  • An inquisitive, analytical mindset
  • Experience of producing documents, reports, board papers and presentations for stakeholders at all levels
  • Skilled in analysis and extracting key themes; conveying complex matters simply
  • Ability to take a commercial approach to understand the impact on the business and the customer
  • Self motivated, uses initiative, dynamic, pragmatic and resilient

What you can expect from us:

  • Generous pension contributions with an employer contribution of up to 14%
  • Real living wage
  • Income protection, critical illness cover & death in service insurance
  • Employee healthcare
  • Parental and adoption leave
  • Learning & development opportunities and study support
  • Travel season ticket loans
  • Volunteering days and charity payroll giving
  • Onsite gym
  • Social clubs and events
